The Brady List Project

To ensure fair trials, the Supreme Court of the United States established the Brady Doctrine, which obligates prosecutors in every case to investigate, obtain, and disclose all information regarding any individual whose testimony or professional conduct may affect the integrity of judicial proceedings.

The Brady List is the definitive public-facing platform of record for accountability information and potential impeachment disclosures involving Law Enforcement Organizations [LEOrgs], Prosecutors, Judges, and government agents. The platform includes records of officer misconduct, decertification, public complaints, use-of-force reports, do-not-call listings [Giglio letter], and other materials relevant to due process, transparency, and the preservation of justice within the legal system.

This platform is available as-a-service to all Peace Officer Standards & Training [POST] Departments, Prosecutors, State (Regulatory) Bars, Law Enforcement Organizations [LEOrgs], Courts, Judicial Disciplinary Bodies, and Government Agencies.

Maryland Public Information Act

Md. Ann. Code art. GP, § 4-101

The Maryland Public Information Act is a series of laws designed to guarantee that the public has access to public records of government bodies at all levels in Maryland. Public records are defined by the Code of Maryland as documents in any form, made or received by a public body which pertain to government business.

According to the Maryland Public Information Act, any person or governmental unit can make public records requests unless it is otherwise indicated by statute. There are not any requirements concerning a statement of purpose, however, if the custodian of the records decides that inspection would go against the public interest, he/she may deny the record for up to ten days. The use of criminal records for the solicitation of legal services is prohibited by law. The department has 30 days to either grant or deny the request.

Each submission is independently reviewed for identity, source reliability, procedural status, legal restrictions, and relevance to disclosure, credibility, integrity, bias, or the administration of justice.
